Guests will participate in an informal fashion seminar discussing fashion "do's" and "don'ts", current fashion trends, and answers to specific fashion dillemas. Each guest will receive a mini fashion evaluation to help them identify their style identity, color analysis, and appropriate dress for their body type. Guest will participate in a unique experience where they will actually "shop" in eachothers closets! Each guest is encouraged to bring items from their closet which they no longer wear. Items brought to the party will be identified as either a "beg" (must keep item) a "borrow" (give to fellow party member) or "steal" (consultant donates item to charity). So I happen to be someone who nearly "abhors" the mall and all it's finding, especially the mall which is closely located to me however I was presently surprised as I passed the new concept Forever 21 store in my local mall. Believe it or not, it was enough to stop my power walk in mid stride. The freshly opened store seemed to glow, as it perched all it bright lighting, loud music, and all the shiny new clothes. Alas if you're well over 21 (ahem) you may feel just a wee bit shy about shopping at a store known for it rock bottom prices and highly imported threads. You may feel a little even more out of place if you happen to have a niece (ahem) who actually does fit this stores target market perfectly. Imagine showing up to the next family function in the same dress as your 15 year old niece? This is most certainly a "no no". I peruse around and of course the former fashion merchandiser in me is going all concept crazy. "This is urban girl, she's bohemian, oh look it looks like they are doing bohem..." and just as my eyes scan what I'm sure is the glam room I see it... an entire room devoted to accessories! "Yes!" I relinquish "This is my territory!"

If you were forced to tackle this season's fall fashion armed with just one glossy magazine, which one would it be? I was recently in a conversation about the Vogue August 2008 magazine which has long been the pioneer of fashion. If you could afford nothing else, you must a least purchase the Fall Vogue and was left with somewhat of a debate. In today's fashion frenzy more and more people are looking for quicly accessible and digested fashion. Yes, it's sad but true. More and more people are becoming more and more fashionable, making it harder ans harder for those of us who have perusing the pages of Vogue (ahem) since their formative years to stay ahead of the game. But, I digress. This story is not about me. It is about what fashion magazine are truly delivery "the goods" in fashion editorial.

The Champion
Vogue's Fall Issue is simply legendary. From the fashion photography, artistic direction, and the ad slot reserved for simply the most anticipated fashion collections, yes after several decades, vogue is still very much "in vogue".

Fashion 20K
For those who are obsessed with instant-gratification, now-a-days anyone under thirty,Lucky Magazine holds it own when it comes "who wore it", "where to get" and "when it's over".

The "New" Style Bible
There just something different about purchasing that In Style magazine that just makes it feel like it is going to be such a valuable investment. I thin In Style tends to have the most intriguing cover art. They belly heavy on fashionable celebrities and "pull you-in" caption title.

This is it! The month we have all been waiting for the Fall 2008 fashion magazine have finally hit news stands! There is just something so evolutionary about the year 2008 - 8 being the number of infinity - preceeded by double circles - it seems that just maybe this year - fashion may finally come full circle.

Here's the Best of Fall 2008, as ranked by Harper's Bazaar
1. Lace and Texture - We're told the more the better.
2. Prints - Florals, paisleys, and yes animal prints - yet again are "al rigour" this season.
3. Bold Colors - Vivid, vibrant hues, painterly stripes, and water colors breeze into the fall.
4. Elegant Extras - Over the top accessories, clutches, and furs equal a big fat YES.
5. Bag a Big Bag - Our fellow New York girls know this is not a problem!
6. Pile on the Extras - Let you inner drama queen shine - piles of pearls, stands of gold, and ribbons of fabric, fun, fun fun!
7. Reach New Heights - The stiletto goes sky-high this season whether it be vamp or mod.
8. Playful Toppers - Fun and funky coats and capes will be all the rage.
9. Go Bright for Night - Citrus velvet and neon animal prints. Hey, we won't tell...
10. Get Back to Basic - Fellow fashionista, we can not stress this enough!!
11. Say it in Silk: For formal occasion, nothing is quite as elegant as silk taffeta in rich auburn hues.

Sincere apologies to all apresenta readers, as this summer I have been practically M.I.A. I know, I know, I haven't forgotten about all you fabulous readers (I am so not worthy!). I assure you, as of this month the apresenta blog will be back in full effect! Read on for an update (er, excuses) on what I've been up to as well as what's in store for the apresenta blog.

Excuse 1: I got bit by the love bug. Well you know what they say, you can't fight the love bug and alas your fellow hot-tempered diva has been bitten and smitten. I know, I didn't think it was possible either! Needless to say, this summer has been filled with long weekend sabbaticals to the Hampton's, the Cape, and dodges all over New York City to celebrate this new found passion. --
Excuse 2: Business has been booming. There must be something ninety degree weather, that makes people hard-pressed to clean their closets! I have been booking closet evaluation appointments left and right, and with the Fall quickly looming upon us I anticipate the bookings will continue to increase. Now booking October.

Excuse 3: New business. Ever wonder what your favorite editor does in her spare time? Well when I'm not shopping or reading the latest NYT bestseller, you can find me in the kitchen whipping up some "exotic culinary creation". I love to cook and consume good food and drink. I have always wanted to chronicle my rather spur-of-the-moment culinary miracles ((and uh a few disasters. Check out The Nosh to check out my recent work in progress.

Well, as I took my very lofty reprieve from the website, apresenta reader's took absolutely no reprieve on sounding off on what they love and hate about the apresenta blog.

Love #1: Fashion Theory. Reader's love these informational posts on fashion and our craving more of them. I have written many informatinal articles on various fashion topics however due to the amount of fashion blogs on the webs there is currently a mind numbing amount of fashion know-how on the web. Due to this, apresenta will be introducing Style Bible. Style Bible will be a feature dedicated to the best fashion know-how on the web featuring post from various fashion bloggers and taste makers. Of course, this section would not be complete input and feedback from "yours truly". P.S. it's worth more than two cents.

Love #2 & #3 & #4: What To Wear Workbook, Ask The Editor, and Fashionable Giveaway. All of the above are crowd pleaser's, blog readers our yearning for more. Consider it done.

Readers are not so fond of "your unequivocal assertion that all of us have an endless bank account to splurge on outrageously over-priced designer handbags and clothing..." as one reader mildly put it. Point taken. Apresenta will be launching three different profiles to signify pricing of featured items. The categories will be posh (items prices below the $100 mark), smart (items priced from $100-$500) and luxe (items priced from $500 and above).

And still our most prevalent reader complaint, "Where the hell are you guys?" We know. We're back.
